Slovenia, a world of natural attractions

Church of the Assumption, Bled Island,Lake Bled,Radovljica ,Slovenia

Slovenia is mainly a green country located between the Alps, the Mediterranean and the Pannonian plain. It represents an extraordinary tourist destination especially for its natural attractions: mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, forests, hills, caves, plains, thermal springs and the sea. Of the Slovenian territory you can admire in particular interesting towns and villages, summer tourist villages and wellness centers along the coast, hills of wine production and friendly “gostilnas” from home cooking. But there are also casinos and special events, sports, recreational activities, culture, castles and churches, museums and galleries, past and present at the intersection of time.

From the capital Ljubljana, with its monuments in Baroque and Art Nouveau, you can get to the heart of the Slovenian Alps in a short time (an hour or so). With a car ride of just half an hour you can reach the extraordinary karst caves of Postumia. The Slovenian coast is lively and colorful, with small towns on the sea, with beaches and good opportunities for sport and recreation. Also on the coast there are four marinas with about 2000 berths, the international airport for sport planes, the internationally known Seedlings Salt Pans and the well-preserved medieval cities, such as Piran.

Inland the hills of Slovenian Istria rise: the hills also abound in the southeast and east of Slovenia, ie in areas where the vine grows. All the natural resources that Slovenia boasts make it possible for nature activities: from Koper on the Litoral to Jesenice in the northern part of the country it takes less than two hours by car, and from Koper to Murska Sobota in the extreme north-east.
