STRUCTURE:
Dubai’s historic hotel, the Metropolitan Hotel is one of the first and then one of the best-known in all of the Arab Emirates. It was called “The Met” and was built in ’79. After twenty years of glory it was closed and then completely restored with the declared ambition to bring it back to its ancient splendor. It then reopens in December 2016 offering pleasant, well-kept rooms, high-quality services, and comfortable rooms.
We are in the renowned Al Manara district, in the Al Barsha area, well-liked because it is well connected to the beach and to all the major attractions of the city, all within a 10-minute metro ride (with a stop at the hotel 500 meters) or of taxi. The latter are extremely cheap. With less than 10 bucks you can reach the beach, Down Town and Burj Khalifa (the tallest skyscraper in the world – 828 meters), as well as the Dubai Marina or JBR, the renowned Jumeirah waterfront promenade and the true center of Dubai’s nocturnal nightlife. Always a few minutes by taxi, in the Burj Al Arab area at Jumeirah, better known as La Vela, we also point out the Bahri Bar, where you can sip quality cocktails in a truly unique setting, among Persian carpets and huge bamboo sofas. Among the many strengths of the hotel is its proximity to the famous Mall of Emirates, 1,800 meters, one of the world’s most famous shopping malls, the second largest in size (after the Dubai Mall) with its shops and attractions including 22,000 m² of ski and snowboard slopes! Give yourself a “winter” brackish in August, testing the 5 different lifts or enjoying this unusual panorama from the windows of one of the many great restaurants in the mall. For sea lovers the hotel offers different options. A free shuttle to Kite Beach Beach, very popular with the most sporty, partly free and partly equipped. A convention with related transfer to the beach club (fee) of the elegant Habtoor Grand Resort in Dubai Marina. The popular Barasti Beach Club, perhaps the most popular in Dubai, with a live music and DJ set, is just a few minutes away by taxi. An interesting signal is dedicated to motorcycle lovers, just a few meters from the hotel, along the road that connects it to the subway, there are the showrooms of Mc Laren and Lamborghini. With a bit of pursuit you can ask for availability for a road test … Shopping in Dubai is also this!
LOCALITY: Al Barsha, Al Manara district, 500 m from the subway station, 1800 m from the Mall of Emirates, 6 km from Kite Beach, 9 from The Palm Jumeirah, Barasti Beach, Dubai Marina and The Walk, 11 from Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa at Down Town, 20 from Dubai International Airport.
BEACH: sandy beach of Kite Beach, connected by a free shuttle, 6 km away, partly free, partly equipped with beach umbrellas and cribs (about 19 USD for a beach umbrella and a cot). Another well-stocked beach at the elegant Habtoor Grand Resort in Dubai Marina (11km) with shuttle, entrance, cot and beach umbrella at $ 27 per person. Third option is Barasti Beach beach, with live music and dj set, 9 km, with free entrance (compulsory consumption) and sun loungers, parasols and mattresses for a fee.
