Who chose the Dominican Republic for a holiday of total relaxation, look on the map the south-east of the country and look for Bayahibe, a small village in the province of La Altagracia, about 20 kilometers from the city of La Romana.

Overlooking the Caribbean Sea and surrounded by sugar cane fields, the village of Bayahibe was founded in the 19th century by fishermen from Puerto Rico. Today it has become one of the most desirable locations on the island and it is enough to review some photographic images to understand their reasons. This is the pleasant place par excellence, where the mind finally relaxes and rediscovers the colors of calm: the blue of the sea that embraces the sky, the white of the fine sandy beach, the green of the tropical vegetation and the pastel shades of the typical wooden houses of the premises.

In the daily life of Bayahibe, chaos and frenetic rhythms are not known; in their place dominate simplicity and slowness. After a regenerating immersion in this idyllic reality, travelers will be ready for hiking activities. So on, towards the huge reserve of the Parque Nacional del Este and the nearby islands of Soana and Catilina as a natural continuation of this Caribbean dream.
